From the ASK landing page, you'll see a single input box prompting: "Ask a legal question, describe a fact pattern, or paste an order..."
Type in your query here. You can:
Ask a direct legal question (e.g. "Can a winding-up petition under Section 433(e) be entertained where there is a bona-fide dispute?")
Describe a fact pattern and ask for an assessment
Paste an order or judgment excerpt and ask ASK to analyze it
Try an Example: Below the input box, a set of example prompts is available to get started quickly. Click any example to auto-fill the box.
Recent Runs: A dropdown at the bottom lets you revisit previous research runs.
Selecting Sources
Click the Sources pill (shows something like "Sources · India · All databases") to open the source selection panel. There are two tabs:
Database Tab
Pick which jurisdiction and database category ASK should search:
Choose a country from the left column (India, United States, UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden, and more). The number next to each show how many databases are available for that country.
Selecting a country expands categories on the right, such as Direct Taxes, Indirect Taxes, Corporate Laws, General Laws, and General AI Intel.
If you don't narrow down to a specific category, ASK searches all databases within the selected country by default.
Click Select to confirm or Cancel to back out.
Org Knowledge Base Tab
This lets you ground ASK's answer in your firm's own uploaded documents instead of (or alongside) the public databases.
Check Select all to use the entire knowledge base or pick specific indexed files.
The panel shows how many files are currently indexed and available.
Using Research Formats
Click the Output type pill to choose how ASK should structure its answer. Pick whichever format best fits how you plan to use the output: Brief for something you'll circulate as-is, IRAC or CREAC when you need a structured legal analysis you can drop into a memo or submission.
Running a Search
Once your question is typed, sources are selected, and an output type is chosen, click Ask to submit. You can also click Improve first if you want ASK to help sharpen or clarify your query before submitting.
