Getting Started with ASK

Overview of the Module

ASK is where you go for legal research: asking a legal question, working through a fact pattern, or checking an order or judgment. Rather than a plain chatbot answer, ASK searches real legal databases (and, if you choose, your firm's own documents) and returns a research-grade answer with every claim traceable back to its source.

When to Use It

Use ASK when you need to research a point of law, find or verify authority on a specific question, or get a structured written answer you can rely on and cite from, rather than a quick summary. If you're instead working with documents you already have (contracts, notices, judgments you've uploaded), Interact is the better fit; if you need a document drafted from scratch, use Draft.

Interface at a Glance

The ASK landing page is built around a few simple elements you'll use every time:

• An input box where you type or dictate your question
• A Sources pill to choose which databases (or your firm's knowledge base) to search
• An Output type pill to choose how the answer should be structured
• A set of example prompts to get started quickly
• A Recent runs dropdown to revisit past research
