Proactive Drafting allows you to create legal documents from scratch, such as contracts, agreements, petitions, or notices. You provide instructions describing the document, and Lexlegis.ai generates a structured first draft.
Proactive Drafting offers two modes:
- Basic Mode – Quickly generate a draft using only essential inputs.
- Advanced Mode – Add templates, reference files, clauses, and additional instructions to guide the drafting process.
Step 1: Open the Draft Module
- Go to the Dashboard.
- Click Draft from the left sidebar.
- Ensure Proactive Drafting is selected.
You will see the drafting intake interface.
Step 2: Choose Between Basic and Advanced Mode
At the top of the drafting interface, you can switch between:
Basic Mode
- Shows only the required fields.
- Allows you to quickly generate a draft by entering instructions.
Advanced Mode
- Provides additional options to guide the draft, such as:
- Templates
- Reference files
- Clauses
- Special instructions
Use Basic Mode for quick drafts and Advanced Mode for more structured drafting.
Step 3: Provide Drafting Instructions
In Basic Mode, the main required step is to enter your instructions.
- Open Please provide instructions or prompts for the response.
- Write the instructions describing the document you want to create.
Example prompts:
- Draft a Non-Disclosure Agreement between two companies.
- Prepare a Legal Notice for breach of contract.
- Draft a Service Agreement for consulting services.
You can also select prompts from Lexlegis Pre-Set Prompts if available.
Step 4: Use Advanced Options (Optional)
Switch to Advanced Mode if you want more control over the draft.
Advanced options allow you to:
- Use a template for structured drafting.
- Add reference files to guide the AI.
- Include specific clauses or paragraphs.
- Provide additional drafting instructions.
These options help generate more accurate and context-aware drafts.
Step 5: Generate the Draft
Once your instructions are ready:
- Review the information entered.
- Click Next.
Lexlegis.ai will generate the legal draft based on the instructions provided.
You can then review, edit, and export the document.
