The Select documents to analyse step defines the scope of analysis for Interact. Lexlegis will generate insights only from the documents you select here.
Choosing the right documents ensures accurate, relevant, and reliable results.
1. Why Document Selection Matters
Interact does not analyse your entire library by default.
- Only selected documents are processed
- Unselected documents are completely excluded
- The quality of insights depends on the relevance of the selected files
This gives you full control over what Lexlegis analyses.
2. How to Select Documents
You can select documents in three ways:
2.1. Select a Folder
- Selecting a folder includes all documents inside it
- The number shown next to the folder indicates how many documents it contains
2.2. Select Individual Documents
- Choose specific files for focused analysis
- Useful when reviewing or comparing a small set of documents
2.3. Combine Folders and Files
- You can select documents across multiple folders
- Ideal for cross-category analysis (e.g., contracts + policies)
3. Using Search
Use the Search bar to quickly locate:
- A specific document
- A folder name
- Related documents by keyword
This is especially helpful when working with large document libraries.
4. Uploading Documents
If the document you need is not already available in your Library, you can upload it directly from the document selection step.
When you click Upload, you can:
- Add one or more files
- Choose an existing folder in which the files should be stored
- Apply tags for easier organisation
Once uploaded, the files are immediately available and can be selected for analysis in the current interaction.
Important to note
- Files can be uploaded only into existing folders
- You cannot create, rename, or reorganise folders from this screen
- Folder creation and folder management must be done from the Library
Uploaded documents follow the same analysis rules as existing files and are used only if explicitly selected.
5. Best Practices
- Select only relevant documents for clearer insights
- Avoid selecting entire libraries unless required
- For comparisons, choose documents of the same type or purpose
- Fewer, well-chosen documents often produce better results
6. What Happens Next
After selecting documents, choose how Lexlegis should work with them.
This next step determines whether Lexlegis will analyse documents for insights or search them for specific information.
